DEP is an independent organization with no religious
of government affiliations which relies on grants and donation to
continue its work. Money is currency being sought for the following
purposes:
Supports of girls
Every year several hundred girls are referred to DEP, many times
more than can be offered places. It costs about US $500 per year
for every girl DEP supports at school. This amount covers the costs
of school uniforms, equipment and activities, lunch and school transport,
as well as life development and health care program.
Accommodation for hill-tribe children
Many hill-tribe children have no suitable schools in their villages.
Family problems prevent others from learning. Funds are required
to provide food and accommodation for those who have to live away
from home to obtain education.
Study tour
Many of children in the program have never traveled away from home.
During the school holidays a group is taken on tour to see the reality
of life in Thai cities and the social and environment problem in
other areas of the country.
You can donate to DEP by:
1. Sending a personal or bank cheque, in any major currency, made
out DEP;
2. Transferring money to Siam Commercial Bank, Mae Sai, Chiang Rai,
Thailand.
